The JVS ICT Dept aims to nurture “Future-ready and Responsible Digital Learners” It plans to transform Jurongville Secondary School into an ICT enriched environment where technology is used responsibly, to make learning effective, innovative and meaningful.

The ICT department works closely with the ICT committee and Infocomm Club  CCA to leverage technology in a safe and secure environment. 

Aligned to the ICT Masterplan 4, JVS ICT focusses on the following:
  • Design quality learning experiences with technology to develop the 21st Century Competencies and deepen subject disciplinary
  • Develop good ICT practices through capacity building and learning communities.
  • Scan for educational technology to translate into classroom practices and spread successful practices for adoption and adaptation across other department or schools
  • Partner stakeholders and provide infrastructure to support anytime and anywhere learning for anyone.

The ICT Committee’s objective is to encourage and support the use of technology in Teaching and Learning. This is done through role modelling and sharing at the various departments. New technologies are explored but they are ascertain for its impact on making learning effective, innovative and meaningful. Committee members work at two levels to champion ICT in their department. Firstly, they guide and encourage teachers in their department by role modelling the use of technology inside and outside the classroom. Secondly, they help to equip and familiarise students with the skills to leverage available technology.
