CCA Leaders

In Jurongville Secondary School, CCA (Co-Curricular Activity) Leaders play an important role in shaping the experiences of their peers within various co-curricular activities. They are student leaders who take on key responsibilities in ensuring that their CCAs run smoothly, fostering teamwork, discipline and school spirit while developing their own leadership skills.

CCA Leaders are appointed to oversee and support the activities within their respective CCAs, whether it be sports, performing arts or uniformed groups. They lead by example, manage the planning and execution of CCA events and ensure active participation form all members. By doing so, they help create a vibrant and cohesive CCA environment where students can grow in both skills and character.

Their key responsibilities include:

Leadership in Action: CCA Leaders guide and mentor their peers, leading training sessions, practices and rehearsals while motivating their team or group to achieve excellence.
Event Planning and Management: Leaders play an integral role in organising CCA events, competitions, performances and showcases, ensuring smooth execution and active involvement.
Fostering Team Spirit: They help build camaraderie among CCA members, encouraging collaboration and supporting each other’s growth and achievements.
Representing the School: CCA leaders serve as ambassadors for the school during external competitions, performances and public events, upholding Jurongville’s values of discipline, respect and sportsmanship.

Jurongville Secondary School supports the growth and development of its CCA Leaders through various leadership training programmes and mentoring. These initiatives equip them with the tools and knowledge to lead effectively.

Leadership Training Workshop: CCA Leaders participate in workshops focused on leadership skills such as communication, conflict resolution and event management.
Mentorship by Teachers and Senior Leaders: CCA Leaders are guided by CCA teachers and senior leaders, who provide advice, support and feedback to help them improve in their roles.
Reflection and Feedback: Leaders are encouraged to reflect on their leadership journey and receive feedback from their peers and teachers, promoting continuous growth and self-awareness.
