FamilyMatters@School is a partnership programme with MSF (Ministry of Social and Family Development) to offer parents and students easy access to family life education (FLE) programmes and resources. It seeks to help parents and students enhance the quality of family life by equipping them with the skills and confidence to build strong relationships. All activities are complimentary.

Triple P Seminars

The school is working with Lakeside Family Service Centre to organise The Positive Parenting Programme (Triple P) seminars which will be held via Zoom. The dates are:
Seminar 1 - Raising Responsible Teenagers: 05 May, Fri (8pm-9pm)
Seminar 2 - Raising Competent Teenagers: 12 May, Fri (8pm to 9pm)
Seminar 3 - Getting Teenagers Connected: 19 May, Fri (8pm to 9pm)

Lakeside Family Services has been appointed by MSF in 2020 to deliver parenting support services to Jurongville Secondary School. Positive Parenting Programme (Triple P) is an evidence-based programme that equips parents with techniques to promote your children’s (aged up to 16 years) psychological, social and emotional competencies. Triple P is built on a tiered system that provides different degrees of parental support.

The Triple P Seminars will be held on Zoom. The Programme is a strategy designed to better support and empower parents with the skills in maintaining positive parent-child relationship. More details of the seminars will be provided soon.

Audience	Parents who have 1 to 2 concerns about teen's behaviour	Parents of teens with mild to moderate behavioural difficulties	Parents with concerns about their teen's behaviour who require intensive training in positive parenting	Module 1 - What is Positive Parenting? Module 2 - Encouraging Appropriate Behaviour Model 3 - Teaching New Skills and Behaviours Module 4 - Problem Behaviour Module 5 - Planning Ahead for Risky Situations Module 6 - Raising Confident, Capable Teenagers
Structure	Seminar style 3 seminars 1 hour each seminar	One on One (1 or 2 parents) 3 - 4 sessions 45 minutes per session	Group work (5 parents) 5 group sessions, 2 hours each 3 individual telephone consultations (20 minutes each)
